PICKLEBALL CLINICS โ€” PFLUGERVILLE / AUSTIN

Everything you wanted to know about pickleball clinics in Austin.

Pickleball clinics at Pickleland are small-group coaching sessions designed to move you from where you are today to the next level โ€” fast. Held inside our 9-court, climate-controlled facility in Pflugerville (10 minutes north of Austin, TX), our clinics run year-round, rain or shine, on premium cushioned indoor courts.

Whether you're a brand-new player wondering "what's the difference between a clinic and a lesson?" or a 3.5 trying to break into 4.0, we have a class for you. Beginner clinics (sometimes called Pickleball 101) cover the rules, scoring, ready position, the serve, and the dink โ€” the four things every new player needs. Intermediate and advanced clinics drill specific skills: third-shot drops, transition zone footwork, two-handed backhands, kitchen battles, lobs, and ATP shots.

All Pickleland clinics are capped at 8 players per coach. That means real reps, real feedback, and real improvement โ€” not a forty-person line waiting to hit one ball. Most clinics run 60โ€“90 minutes, cost between $30 and $60 per session, and include free use of our loaner Selkirk and JOOLA paddles if you're still shopping for your own.

If you're searching for pickleball lessons near me, indoor pickleball Austin, pickleball coaching Pflugerville, or pickleball classes for beginners โ€” you're in the right place. We're one of very few indoor clubs in the area with dedicated programming at every DUPR level from 2.0 to 5.0+ โ€” and the highest rated on Google and Yelp.

Prefer the all-in-one path? Ask about The Program โ€” our flagship 8-week beginner-to-3.5 method that bundles weekly clinics, drills, and structured open play into one membership.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Quick answers, real talk.

What's the difference between a clinic and a private lesson? +
A clinic is a small group (up to 8 players) led by a coach, focused on one or two skills. You drill together, get group feedback, and play a few games. Clinics are cheaper ($30โ€“$60) and great for meeting other players at your level. A private lesson is 1-on-1 with a coach, fully customized, and costs $80โ€“$150/hour โ€” better for fixing a specific habit fast or prepping for a tournament.
I've never played before โ€” which clinic should I start with? +
Start with our Free Intro Class every Saturday at 10am โ€” no paddle needed, no charge. After that, the Beginner Strategy & Skills Clinic is the next step. It assumes you can serve and rally a little but covers the rules, scoring, the kitchen, the third shot, and basic positioning. Most people come back 3โ€“4 weeks in a row before moving up.
Do I need to be a Pickleland member to join a clinic? +
No. All clinics are open to the public. Members get a small discount and priority registration, but non-members can book any open clinic spot through PlayByPoint.
What level am I? How do I know if a clinic is right for me? +
If you have a DUPR rating, use it. If not: 2.0 = brand new; 2.5 = can rally a few balls; 3.0 = recreational, can keep score, knows the kitchen rule; 3.5 = solid intermediate, comfortable with the third-shot drop; 4.0+ = advanced. Unsure? Ask our front desk or book a Find Your Fit session โ€” we'll watch you play for 15 minutes and place you correctly.
How much do pickleball clinics cost at Pickleland? +
Group clinics: $30โ€“$60 per session, depending on length (60 vs 90 min) and coach. Private lessons: $80โ€“$150/hour. The free Saturday intro is, well, free. Multi-pack and member discounts are available on our memberships page.
What should I bring? Do you have loaner paddles? +
Bring athletic shoes (court shoes ideal โ€” tennis or volleyball shoes work great), a water bottle, and clothes you can move in. We provide brand-new balls and loaner paddles (Selkirk + JOOLA) free for first-timers, or for $5 (basic) / $8 (pro) any visit after that.
Where is Pickleland and how do I get there from Austin? +
We're at 21427 Martin Lane, Pflugerville, TX 78660 โ€” about 20 minutes north of downtown Austin via I-35 or 130 Toll. Free parking right out front. Google Maps directions โ†’
Are clinics indoor? What about Texas summer heat? +
Yes โ€” all 9 courts are indoor and climate-controlled to 72ยฐ year-round. No rain delays. No 105ยฐ August practice sessions. It's a real reason serious Austin players join Pickleland: you can actually train all summer.
Can I cancel or reschedule a clinic? +
Yes โ€” full credit if you cancel 24+ hours in advance through PlayByPoint. Inside 24 hours, we can move you to a future session if there's space; no-shows are charged the session fee since the spot was held for you.
Do you offer junior or kids' pickleball clinics? +
Yes โ€” our Junior Academy serves ages 8โ€“14 with weekly drills + match play, and we run a 4-day Junior Summer Camp in June. School-break clinics drop several times a year.
